Sigg: 10 oz, $16.99. Extruded aluminum with baked enamel interior and powder paint exterior, polypropylene cap. Dishwasher safe, but recommended to wash by hand. Also dents easily, and eventually exterior paint may dull or flake, but otherwise the bottle holds up extremely well—an eye-pleasing blend of form and function.
Thermos Foogo: 7 oz, $14.95. Stainless steel with a lid and base made from polypropylene and thermoplastic elastomer. Like the Sigg and Safe Sippy, best to wash by hand. Double-walled construction makes it the most insulated of all the sippies, and the hardy plastic base makes for less denting—does leak a little when shaken upside down, however. Still, the Foogo’s ability to keep drinks cold makes it a winner. (my favorite!
Boon No-Spill Toddler Cup: 9 oz, $5.99. Polypropylene, BPA-free plastic, with a distinctive, futuristic design.
Nuby No-Spill Two Handle Soft Spout Sippy Cup: 10 oz, $2.89. BPA-free with a soft silicone spout unfortunately prone to tearing. Otherwise, the design is child-friendly and very easy for babies to handle.
